What helps you through a flare up?

What do you do to help yourself during a flare up? Rest and heat are my best friends during a flare.

  1. With the awful, debilitating pain, most of us,me!, are willing to do,try anything that will help with taking the edge off! Be well, y'all

    1. - Definitely! It's tough dealing with such persistent discomfort. I am on this boat -- always searching for tools, techniques, and therapies to help ease the affliction brought on by spondyloarthritis. Thanks for the well wishes - sending them your way as well. Rebecca (team member)

    1. These are all wonderful ways to help ease the pain of flares and manage spondyloarthritis. Thanks for sharing your self-care therapies here with us in the community. Warmly - Rebecca (team member)

  3. Ice packs alternating with heat pads. Whole Food Plant Based Diet

    1. thanks for sharing. These therapeutic strategies can be quite effective in soothing inflammation and easing discomfort, as is a whole food plant-based diet. Hoping you are reaping the benefits and your pain is low. Thoughtfully, Rebecca (team member)

  4. I love a sauna and the heat mixed with freezing cold showers. I can’t say it relieves long term pain but for those 45 min hot-cold blasts I feel slightly normal

    1. So glad you've found some ways that offer a temporary sense of normalcy and comfort. Cherishing that 45 minutes when you feel better is worth it. Hoping you continue to explore new and effective ways to ease your AS pain. thanks for sharing - Warmly - Rebecca (Team member)
