"Hi,just read your story on your biologics not working. I am just realising that this is what's happening to me. I am on self injectable Remisa ATM and been on it for two years after hospitalization for UC.Promoted as the wonder drug, I have found it quite limiting as I am also immune compromised and this drug made me more so.I have battled with weight issues on it too. Finally found out in post menopausal women and men that the inhibitor in this drug for Necrotising Tumour Factor seems to be what's causing the weight gain.
Aside from that I was actually wondering if the risk of obesity related diseases was worth the risk of stopping the drug and then having to deal with UC. Urhhh! Now it looks like my body has decided and of course the UC is not pleasant to cope with.
It's frustrating to say the least. We want to be well yet the side effects make it hard.
I feel for all who are battling with various conditions the Biologics are trying to help with. And when they stop we are left wondering how our lives will function and what's next. I hope you all get solutions. "
