This is a great topic to explore. I'm sorry more haven't responded. I wasn't misdiagnosed, just went from one diagnosis to the next. For example - for many years told nothing was wrong - it was all in my head. Went through so many tests and diagnostics such as for MS, NMO, and Lyme disease. In my 40s, I was told I had rheumatoid arthritis, then said no I had non-radiographic AxSpA, then radiographic, then peripheral to now ankylosing spondylitis with both spine and limb involvement. It has been a long journey. Misdiagnosis occurs because many symptoms are similar to other diseases. And there is no one specific symptom that stands out to point in the direction of inflammatory arthritis. It can be mistaken for example as mechanical back pain. I will check back to see what others post. Wishing you the best in the New Year. Rebecca (team member)
