Highly Sensitive Person and chronic illness

Has anyone heard about the Highly Sensitive Person and how they deal with ankylosing spondylitis?
I was classified as a Highly Sensitive Person while investigating why small degenerations caused by AS gave me so much discomfort and pain. After that I was very intrigued and confused about this relationship and what to do with that information.

  1. I am also highly sensitive and was recently diagnosed with acute fibromyalgia.
    Sending you well wishes

    1. I have never heard of it but now u have me intrigued because though my daughter doesn't have AS, she was diagnosed, ( as a child, as a Highly Sensitive Person,) and DOES have a different autoimmune disease. She seems to feel things so much deeper, as far as pain.
I do hope someone on here can help u in some way w/ the info. So much good feelings going your way!!

      1. Hi there. I have never heard of HSP. I can see how being diagnosed with it would mean you felt the effects of AS that much more acutely.
I hope you are keeping well.

        1. what is HSP?

        2. Hi
I believe in this instance HSP is referring to a Highly Sensitive Person.

      2. I too am intrigued. It would make sense to me that a highly sensitive person would feel the effects of AS on a whole different scale. I certainly will investigate further and get back with any findings.
