Physical Therapy

Part of my treatment plan is PT I've done PT in the past I've even done Aqua therapy and each time they have made this a part of my treatment plan it seems harder and harder not sure if it's because of disease progression but Iam struggling more than ever doing PT now. Is anyone else in PT? and how do you get through it? Exercising has become such a challenge for me and i use to workout everyday but i can barely do a squat now Iam motivated to keep going it's just very challenging with the pain and it wears me out.

  1. Hey , so glad to hear that the aqua therapy has gotten easier for you . Yes stick with it if you can as I’m sure in the long run it will help . After I had a big flare years ago it took a while for me to get back on track with the therapy but it did definitely help me . With out it I feel like I would of struggled for longer and now I keep it up by doing the stretches in my local pool too which help loads . Hope you had a good week so far and feeling well today . Blessings to you .

    1. Thank you Suzy I appreciate that! How have you been holding up?

  2. Hey , sorry to hear you are struggling with PT. Same as James I always have a warm bath before I do my stretches and and usually do these in the evening . It takes me a while to feel motivated to do them at the moment I think because I feel more achy ! But I know if I don’t I will feel worse and it only becomes harder the longer I leave it . Some of the stretches I do are from having PT in the past and some are from a Pilates class I go to . I find swimming and doing my hip flexes in a pool really helps when I’m in pain .
    Blessings to you .

    1. Hey Suzy Thank you so much I’m going to do aqua therapy again it was def easier just have to stick with it for as long as I can this time. How are you doing today? Wishing you all the best Nadine (Community Member)

  3. Hi ,

Sorry to hear that your PT sessions have been a struggle. I had some when I was first diagnosed and they really helped me by coming up with a stretch routine that I still perform to this day.

I was in a bad way when I was having mine, but I found that if I had a bath in epsom salts beforehand it would help me loosen up to a state where I was able to perform the exercises a little easier. I would also have a coffee or an energy drink before I went to try and fight any fatigue I was feeling.

    I hope this helps,

    1. Sorry for my late reply but thank you for sharing that. They actually switched me to aqua therapy so I think it will be easier

    2. I know it can be really hard. But I think a lot of people have had luck with physical therapy, just so long as the physical therapist truly understands your condition and listens to you closely. I have had loads of luck with aqua therapy, and just so long as I don’t over do it, it really helps with mobility and even sleep. How has it been working for you?
