Hello - as it is well known, smoking is quite dangerous to the body in many ways. But when having a chronic illness, especially AxSpA, a few things more happen. A few include: Disease progression being quicker and worse, smoking causing more inflammation, and it often disrupts Tnf therapy. It definitely paves a footpath toward a more difficult and worsened disease course. Is there anything in particular you are looking for? Here is a link to an article on a study done that may help you understand the link between smoking and worsened AS disease. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5470065/ Hope this is useful.
