Even amidst the challenges posed by axSpa, there remain compelling reasons to be thankful. What are you thankful for?

I am thankful for my physiotherapy group, we all have AxSpa and we meet every Monday evening to exercise together. They are such a nice bunch of people and the physiotherapists who lead the sessions are lovely and so committed. We get to do some exercise in the gym and some hydrotherapy in a warm pool! I am extremely grateful to have access to such a support exercise group. We went to the restaurant last week to have a meal all together for Xmas and it was a lovely warm evening.

I'm thankful that I was diagnosed at 72 yrs old, and not as a child.

That's understandable.
Did you have any symptoms early on?

I am so grateful for my husband who is so caring and helpful! Everything he plans for us, he keeps in mind the level of difficulty it is for me and how he can accommodate my needs. For example, he has taken over almost all the cooking because he knows it causes me pain. For Thanksgiving, our kids are mostly going to be gone so he's taking me out to a fancy restaurant. When we go somewhere he always reminds me to take my cane or walker, or maybe a pillow for the car ride. He can always tell when I'm in pain and asks me what I need. Sometimes he is overprotective and thats ok because I need to be reminded of certain precautions I should be taking. I am very grateful for his care because there are so many that are alone in this struggle.
