Does anyone have lift chair/recliner/rocker

I’m going to retire my Well know rocker / recliner after 20 years and thinking about getting a lift chair since it’s harder for me to get out of my Lazy. Do you have any experience, suggestions on what kind would be the best ?
I now have a Mini Schnauzer who keeps me busy and is always jumping in my leather chair with her Ginsu Kife like toe nails which might destroy a Fabric One. Any help would be appreciated. Ron

  1. Hello there, - have you found and purchased a lounger? Or are you still deciding? Curious how you are doing, and if your purchase was worth it. Rebecca (team member)

    1. - Have you looked at all the chairs on Mayfair? It says you can send it back if you don’t like it- this is definitely a win..

    2. Thanks for the tip. But with Mayfair how do you return it? Are you required to get it somewhere so they send it back? Or do they pick it up should you decide to return it? I may have to look at their site. Thanks. Rebecca (team member)

  2. Hi ,
I just wanted to jump in here and mention to check with your insurance AND your healthcare provider. There may be options out there. Quite a few years ago my Dad needed a lift chair and after doing some research and talking with his healthcare team, we found it was covered by his insurance. Again, it was quite a few years ago, but I believe his doctor wrote a script and we were able to order it (and have it delivered) through a medical supply company.
Good luck with your search, Doreen (Team Member)

    2. This is a great idea.

  3. - thanks for posting this AMAZING question. I do not have experience with a lift chair, but have seen a few people use them. My FIL had a fused ankle and it was difficult for him to get up out of a regular recliner. He bought a lift recliner to help. He loved it. As to what brand or kind he purchased, I cannot tell you. I think it is quite personal a choice bc there are quite a few on the market. I certainly hope others log on and leave their experience. I would love to see their responses. I'll circle back around in a few days hoping for experienced responses. Rebecca (Team member)

    1. - Hi again Ron. When exploring the internet, there were so many lift chairs I saw ranging from 500 to 5,000 dollars. I'm sure it would be challenging to purchase a lift chair without trying it out first. Sometimes they have a return policy but I suspect that it would be quite a hassle to return it. I noticed that medical supply stores sell them as well as furniture stores. Are there any near you? I feel as though I would find a store near me and try it out. As you stated, you don't have a feel for which is good or bad. Wishing you the best of luck. Rebecca (team member)

    2. - You saw all the different products like I did and it’s very hard to tell which one is great without sitting on a few. I noticed Mayfair says they have a return policy but it sounds like it could be a hassle. Thanks for the response and will keep in contact when I find a good one.
