Mosquito bites and AS
Is it possible to over react to a mosquito bite with AS to the point that you get joint pain and swelling? What are ways to prevent this other than the obvious bug spray?

I have never experienced this myself and am not completely sure about mosquito bites specifically but I do have a friend with AS who told me that she had a very similar situation after being bitten by a spider.
Has this happened to you or are you just asking to be on the safe side?
I am far from an insect bite expert I am afraid but I suppose the best way of avoiding this would be the standard ways of avoiding being bitten with sprays and nets etc.

What an interesting question. I'm not sure. My husband is the one with AS and hasn't experienced this directly. However, he does have a lot of issues with allergies that are exacerbated by AS. Have you tried citronella candles? They can be helpful. Other than bug spray, I'm not sure what can be done! (Wearing more clothing?)
