Should I Tell My Colleagues About My AS?

A member recently asked:

"I have chosen not to tell most colleagues about my condition. Feels like people can't really understand anyway, it's too far removed from their reality. Can't even blame them, I'm sure I would be the same.
Wonder how others feel about this?"

Have you told you colleagues about your AS? How did it go? What was the reaction like? Have you experienced different treatment since disclosing that information?

  1. Well, I guess the answer is that it depends. Older people seem to have more empathy. I have this belief that it's really hard for healthy young people to understand the whole situation, so I'm choosing not to tell youngsters. 😕

    1. I disagree on not telling others. I have found support when I have told others. I figure, if I tell others and they do not like me having AS, they will never like me. I want to get it out the way early. Call it the early test....... Rick - moderator
