Burning sensation

Hi. Im new to this group. I have burning sensations all over my legs and arms. My rheumatologist just dismisses me. Does anyone else experience this?

  1. Hello again, - how are you lately? Has the burning eased any? I wanted to write and also leave a link to an article that may help. Have you heard of enthesitis? This made my muscles and joints burn and throb.

Here's the link to more information about enthesitis - https://axialspondyloarthritis.net/symptoms/body-pain Another article of interest may be this one. Click the link https://axialspondyloarthritis.net/anatomy

Curious how things are proceeding for you.

Hoping you are doing well. Rebecca (team member)

    1. ,
We're glad you found this community.
Many here have described a similar burning feeling. Two of the most common causes of this type of pain can be nerve related (neuropathy) or it can be a response to medication. It is important to share any new or changing symptoms with your healthcare provider (and hope they listen!). Some have suggested keeping a journal of these episodes. Documentation can go a long way when trying to get a doctor to listen.
In the meantime, I am sharing a link to an article (and conversation) that includes one of our Patient leader's experience: https://axialspondyloarthritis.net/living/another-sleepless-night

      1. Welcome to our site, - the burning of your arms and legs sounds very painful and quite irritating. I'm sorry you're going through this sort of pain. Have you been to an orthopedic specialist? It may be several different things. I know when I mention a pain or issue about my body to my rheumy, he refers me to my orthopedic surgeon/specialist and a pain specialist. And usually, they are the group to help me deal with it or resolve it. I am currently scheduled for surgery to help resolve the weakness and pins and needles sensation in my arms and hands. It's been going on since August. With a referral for an MRI, I have slipped discs and blocked nerves in my cervical spine. Maybe this would be a direction to go in next? I have a circle of physicians who treat me - do you have a community or circle of physicians who keep an eye on your medical care? I hope this helps. This link to an article may have some useful information. Wishing you the best - Rebecca (Team member)
