Medications

I’m not interested in taking biologics. Anyone here manage their axspa without it? If so, what do you take instead?

  1. Great topic to discuss, . I came across a recently published article regarding biologics and the choice, or not, to use them as a treatment. https://axialspondyloarthritis.net/living/why-im-not-on-a-biologic
I hope you've had the chance to discuss this issue with a treating physician and you've found some alternative ways to ease the pain and fatigue associated with axial spondyloarthritis. Warmly - Happy holidays - Rebecca (community moderator)

    1. My primary care doctor and referred Rheumatologist are pushing for biologics. They are only talking about that and are not talking about the bigger holistic approach.

      1. Terribly sorry to hear that your physicians are rather focusing on biologics to treat your disease process whilst you are wishing for a more holistic approach. Have you considered visiting a naturopathic/holistic practitioner in your area? There are also therapeutic, alternative, and complementary approaches many in our community find useful as well - here's a link to read up on. Wishing you better days ahead. https://axialspondyloarthritis.net/complementary-integrative-health Warmly, Rebecca (community moderator)

      2. I feel you on this one. Not many doctor will take that approach. They usually believe in medication will help with our conditions. I have found a mix of both to be helping me bring my symptoms at a manageable level. How have you been doing ?
