What biologics have you tried and how have they helped?

Please remember that everyone is different, and what works for some may not work for others. Please respect everyone's experience and their decisions to try or not try certain medications.
Cimzia. It too worked the first year but it caused me to get infections very easily and I was constantly on and off antibiotics so then I couldn’t even take my biologic for a decent amount of time for it to be effective. I don’t know what to do.

I'm so sorry you had a rough time with the biologic. If you'd had an opportunity to talk to your doctor about it, what does he/she suggest? Different biologics work differently for different people, and many people in our community have had to try several to find one that works well long term. In the meantime, how are you managing your pain? All the best, Kathy (Team member)

My sister had a bad experience with biologics, I actually have not asked to try any. I take lefodamine and sulfasadine and have a lot of pain.

I’m really sorry your sister had such a rough experience. That hits close to home, so it’s completely understandable that you’d be more cautious. Are your current meds offering any relief at all, or is it mostly just about getting through the day? -Latoya (Team Member)

Enbril gave me psoriatic arthritis, taltz, breathing issues, and cosentyx took my arm, leg and pit hair

tried the sulfasalazine, methotrexate, steroid shots and nerve burn...no luck. Been on 30 mg morphine 3x's a day for 10 years, takes enough of the edge off so I can live instead of exist. Waiting for longer human studies on meds before I go back. Being a human guinea pig and side effects isn't living.

Wow- You’ve really been through a lot and tried just about everything. It makes total sense that you'd want to stick with what gives you even a bit of relief. After everything you've gone through, holding off until there's more solid data is not only understandable, it's smart. Sometimes, waiting really is the strongest and wisest choice you can make. Continue to hang in there. -Latoya (Team Member)
