AS Friendly Team Sports?

I've been thinking lately that I need to pick up a new hobby.

Ideally I would like it to be a source of exercise too but I'm not quite sure what options are a good idea for my AS.

Back in the day I used to be an avid football (soccer) player, but I don't think my back will agree with me going back to something with as much contact as that.

Would love to hear if any of you guys play any team sports that are a bit gentle on your AS or if you have any suggestions for me!

  1. Hi James - Have you considered a bowling team, joining a flag football league (popular here for young kids - fewer injuries/less strenuous) or possibly participating in group tai chi in the park? Rebecca

    1. Flagfootball is like "touch" rugby (??) in the UK. There's no tackling, just running with the ball, protecting the runner - defense & offense - and making some goals. Younger kids play here, and my daughter loved it in school. She has quite the arm. Definitely google Tai Chi groups near you. It's worth the "google". Best of luck. Warmly, Rebecca

    2. oooh yes I know exactly what you mean! That is a great shout I may have to look into that then. I think it's about time I get out and learn some Tai Chi - it's been lingering on my to do list for some time now!
