Iron Tablets and AS

I was recently advised by my GP to begin taking iron tablets. The day after I began, I had different joints playing up and swelling. I stopped after two days since when things seem to be getting back to normal.
Has anyone else experienced issues from taking iron tablets ?
I was diagnosed in 2004 and have been on biologics (currently Amgevita) for years. This was the first flare up I've ve had for a very long time.
