Just diagnosed in April but symptoms long before

I was diagnosed in April of this year with non-radigraphic axial Spondyloarthritis, DISH and psoriasis. I have had 3 lumbar spine surgeries in the past 7 years. Multitude of injections and even a shoulder surgery in December of last year. I have severe spinal stenosis in ares of my spine. My problem is that my doctors don't seem to communicate with each other. I was only tested for lupus or RA in September of last year. The pain management clinic is fairly useless. I can't take nsaids. The rheumatologist wanted me to take cimzia but insurance wouldn't approve it. The insurance suggested humira or rinvoq but now won't approve either. I just don't know what to do. My hips hurt so much more lately but the pain clinic can't get the order right for a CT scan.

Sorry for the long post! I'm just so frustrated.

  1. No need to apologize for the long post. It sounds like you've been dealing with a lot, and I can understand why you're frustrated. You're spending so much energy trying to navigate insurance issues, referrals, and getting the right tests ordered when that shouldn't be your job. Has anyone suggested a patient advocate who could help you navigate the insurance and scheduling issues? I hope things start falling into place for you and that you're able to get some much needed answers soon because you deserve quality care, not endless roadblocks when you're already dealing with so much. -Latoya (Team Member)
