Newly diagnosed and 10w pregnant

Hi guys ! I was just diagnosed with AS and my sacroiliac joints are super active both sides + I just found out I’m also pregnant, I’m so scared I don’t know from we’re to begin if because of my doctor saying me that the pregnancy will flare up the pain or that I just started my biological treatment with Cimzia (they say is ok for pregnancy) or that Today I woke up with herpes zoster, I can’t move from the bed to do my exercises because of the nausea and vomit, I even don’t know what type of pain is coming from what if is the pregnancy, effects of cimzia , if any of you is being medicated with cimzia and are Or were pregnant please reach out. I feel lonely and hopeless .
I don’t want to sound dramatic but I really need a hand now please

  1. Thank you G

    1. hi I just wanted to offer some positivity to you. I’m a mum of 4 I’ve been diagnosed since my 20s. I took no meds while pregnant/breast feeding. I actually found that my symptoms totally disappeared while I was pregnant but I always had a good flair up after each baby. I also have psoriasis and I found that it spread all over my arms and knees while I was breastfeeding but slowly went away after. I’m taking amgevita now. The body is an amazing thing while pregnant. Stay positive

      1. I was diagnosed with AS post partum. But had a really bad flare up all throughout my pregnancy. It was so brutal. I don’t have any advice other than saying I’ve had a similar experience. And hope the cimiza works for you. It does take time to take effect.

        1. I just sent you a direct message- I have a little baby girl and also have AS. I would love to connect and help you feel a little less lonely in this experience ❤️ -Erin (Team Member)
