Need some exercise recommendations

So I've had Ankylosing Spondylitis since forever it seems, at least 30 years. I went to all types of specialist and believe it or not they never diagnosed me with AS a desperate visit to a chiropractor did. I must say I was impressed. Anyway I've been on enbrel which is a fabulous biologic for me, price a different story. My question is my neck is fused so I have limited motion to the left and back ,plus I acquired a little extra on mid section. Is there any exercises other then the common ones to help with both issues.

  1. 30 years is a long journey with AS, but it’s great to hear Enbrel has been a game changer for you, even though the cost of biologics can definitely be frustrating. I don’t have any specific exercises to recommend, but I’ve seen a lot of people with AS mention that consistency with gentle movement, stretching, posture work, and strengthening makes a difference over time. With your neck being fused, it might be worth working with someone who understands AS and can help you find exercises that fit your range of motion instead of forcing movements that aren’t there anymore. Nonetheless I hope you’re able to find something that helps with both mobility and feeling stronger. The fact that you’re still looking for ways to improve after 30 years says a lot about your determination! All the best, Latoya (Team Member)
